"Thanks very much for the recent changes. I haven't had this much fun with a computer program since I worked in assembly language for Intel 8080-series chips. It's a different kind of fun, too.
Keep up the good work. I am recommending your products to my friends and contacts."

Sincerely,
Boyd

ZDNet gave version 8.1 of Kathleen's Diet Planner their highest rating!

What some happy users have said:

You have a truly wonderful program and believe I have many of the diet programs, such as Diet Power, Balance Log, Healthkeeper and Weight by date Pro. But the service you give makes a great program even more special.
Al

I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE your diet planner, it is just fantastic. I have to see the dietician, next week. Can't thank you enough, you have made my life so much easier. God Bless
Bernadette

We are using your "K-Diet Planner" and it works beautifully. It certainly saves time spent looking up the "Protein Counter" book. Thank you so much. We wish you success in your future endeavours.
Phyllis

This program is great. I have used it to record my wife's diet for the past three days and I have really found your program to be a help. Thanks again for a wonderful program. I love it.

In depth review from a diet planner connoisseur:

A Review of Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0
Sometimes a product in an overcrowded field so totally outclasses its closest competition that one is astonished and simply mutters, "Well, it is about time…why didn’t someone do this properly before!?."

In the prolific field of online diet and nutrition software programs there is just such an outstanding program: Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0, by The Better Byte Software Company. Their motto is "We do it better". Indeed, it would seem that they do.

With the success of the Low-Carb, high protein diets such as Atkins, The Zone, Protein Power, and various and sundry others, the need to count carbohydrates, not so much calories arose (although this program does this, and much more), and the personal computer is the natural assistant to the astute dieter. While the Atkins features of the program will draw the Low-Carb dieters to the software, the myriad other features in the program are the going to make any dieter, or nutritionist sit up and take notice.

The program allows one to enter all of the foods that are in the USDA 14 as well as the CNF 2001 databases, which are included in the program. While powerful and versatile for the computer enthusiast, it is simple enough for the tyro to use all of the features needed to plan, keep track of, and implement a successful diet and exercise plan.

While free websites like www.fitday.com has many nice features, one must be online to utilize them and the normal hassle of passwords and refreshing the browser window repeatedly manifest themselves. Also, the critical feature that most dieters insist on is the ability to summarize and import/export data from the program to text files or spreadsheets like Excel is a particularly nice and easy to use feature in Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0. This, as well as the ability to back up your data, are missing from online programs such as Fitday and are featured prominently in Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0.

I downloaded and tried a plethora of diet and nutrition software programs on the net: Diet Power, Weight Commander, BeNutriFit, NutriGenie Mother of All Diets, FitBody, Performance Diet, and a sampling of web based programs like Fitday. After using all of them for a few days I finally found that the most powerful and the most convenient to use was Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0, by The Better Byte Software Company. With the prices running from $30 to $800 for most nutrition software programs, it behooves one to choose wisely. Go to http://www.betbyte.com/ and download the trial version of Kathleen's Diet Planner 9.0, and give it a spin around the block.

First, use the example data that Paul, the designer and programmer, has thoughtfully included in the database for your perusal. Wander about and feast your eyes upon the most versatile plotting feature that I have yet seen on any of the diet/nutrition software that I have so far evaluated. You may store and plot virtually any of the data that you enter into your personal database: fat, carbohydrates, protein, cholesterol, blood sugar and pressure, exercise, ketosis, and weight loss, just to name a few; and for you diabetics, there is a complete set of tools for your use. With this plotting power, you can compare your weight loss against your ketosis, or your fat intake, for example, or graph your diminishing waist measurements against your exercise regimen, which includes a massive array of physical activities such as walking, swimming, weight training (with entries for repetitions and sets), and even mountaineering! All of these, of course, include the calories burned based on your Basal Metabolic information that this program calculates based on your information such as age, weight, and daily activity.

One of the greatest features of this program is the "Progress Report" which, for any time frame that you specify, will summarize both your daily data, and provide you with the averages and totals of these along with how much your weight, blood pressure, blood workups (glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, et al.) and daily activity, and other information, have both changed and affected your progress…and with encouragement to keep going!

This is just the beginning! With Kathleen’s Diet Planner 9.0 by The Better Byte Software Company, you can keep track of your medications, vitamins, and any custom foods that you want to include in your favorites menu, as well as any recipes that you want to store, with complete nutritional data, into the record for future reference.

For me, the most important feature of this program is the ability of the user to configure the software to his or her needs. Not present in this program is the irritating problem that the program Weight Commander demonstrates: trying to enforce a daily weighing regimen that may not be right for everyone; or the limited body weight restrictions of other programs (less than 300 Lbs??), or even worse the warnings of some programs that a diet high in fat and protein and low in carbohydrates is dangerous, and forbids you to enter this data! Just who do these people think they are!? With The Better Byte Software Company’s Kathleen’s Diet Planner 9.0 you set the system that you want to follow and the program does the rest.

The Adobe Acrobat format instruction manual is both well written and nearly in tutorial format, which walks you through all of the programs features. If you do get stuck, the programs exhaustive help feature puts to shame most others and will help you solve any problem that might come up.

If you are a dieter, a nutritionist, a bodybuilder or just someone that likes to know what is going on with their body, I recommend that you check out Kathleen’s Diet Planner 9.0, by The Better Byte Software Company. You will not be disappointed.

This review is the result of personal enthusiasm for a fine product and not the result of any remuneration or compensation of any kind.
