When Paul Lagasse', owner of The Better Byte Software Company, created the Big Brother 2000 Biorhythm and Compatibility Charts webpage for the houseguests of the popular Big Brother 2000 TV show, little did he know that Big Brother really IS watching!

"I thought it would be an excellent opportunity to verify biorhythm cycles because you have captive subjects who are televised 24 hours a day, and their birth times were posted on the Big Brother Website, reducing the margin of error," said Mr. Lagasse'.

Two weeks later Mr. Lagasse' received an email from Mr. Adam Greener, a Field Producer for the Big Brother 2000 TV show, requesting permission to broadcast the biorhythm webpage on a special edition of the Big Brother Live Show depicting Big Brother websites, to be aired on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000.

"At first I didn't believe it so I contacted other Big Brother fan sites to see if they had had a similar request. Two other sites had! I was pretty excited", said Mr. Lagasse'.

Usually, the Better Byte Software Company's home webpage gets around 10 to 15 hits a day. After putting the Biorhythm page up on the website, that page was getting 80 to 100 hits per day. "If the biorhythm page is broadcast on TV, the hits could go through the roof!" said Mr. Lagasse'. Mr. Lagasse' created the CompaBio software program which enables two persons to plot their biorhythms on a chart and compare their daily outlooks. The software, known as the CompaBio program, displays two person's cycles on a single chart, prints out a text interpretation of the daily outlook and a compatibility report. That same software was used to create the Big Brother houseguests' charts.

What do Big Brother Biorhythms predict? The best match for Josh is Brittany; they are 86% compatible (as opposed to Jamie who is 40%, or Jordan who was 17%). George will have a triple high in September followed by a triple low; the triple high may push George to extremes and, after that, the triple low may slow George down. There is a 30% gap between the compatibility of Curtis, Karen, Jordan and the rest of the group. On August 21, when the Big Brother website featured an article about Brittany having a particularly teary day in which she was complaining about the kind of TV coverage she might be getting, she was having an emotional crossover day. On Sept 4, when Josh was televised crying about his intelligence problems, he was having a double crossover day and his physical cycle was low.

"The software can be downloaded from the internet and tried for free for 30 days. People can compare their biorhythms to those of the houseguests. The CompaBio program is one of the most accurate biorhythm programs out there right now because it's the only one that considers birth times and time zones." said Mr. Lagasse'.

Biorhythm background



Biorhythm theory was discovered independently by Dr. Herman Swoboda, a professor of psychology at the University of Vienna and Dr. Wilhelm Fleiss , a nose and throat specialist in Berlin. Both doctors found that every person exhibits physical, emotional cycle and mental cycles throughout their life. These cycles start out positive at the time of birth, turn negative and then back to positive. These patterns repeat continually.

During a positive cycle, a person is energized, like a newly charged battery. In a negative cycle, energy levels are lower, as batteries recharge. On a crossover or critical day, when a cycle switches from positive to negative, or vice versa, the effects are quite noticeable. Physical crossover days might bring aches and pains and ill-coordination, emotional crossover days might bring feeling lonely and depressed for no reason, mental crossover days might bring spacey feelings and less ability to concentrate. Particularly crucial are days when two or three cycles crossover on one day. On such days, it is often prudent to take precautions such as avoiding operating heavy equipment, postponing serious exams or business decisions, or staying out of critical or taxing situations.

Biorhythm compatibility measures how closely another person's cycles match your own. The more your cycles match, the more compatible you are. However, some people have been known to prefer the balancing effect from opposite cycles. Closely matching physical cycles mean that both people would be energetic or less energetic at the same time. Totally opposite physical cycles mean that one person is energetic when the other person is not.
